What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

We believe that the Bible (i.e. the Old and New Testaments), is the inspired Word of God, the infallible, all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. (2 Tim. 3:15-16; 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe in the unity of the One True and Living God who is the Eternal, Self-Existent "I AM", Who has also revealed Himself in scripture as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Matt 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, Miraculous Ministry, Substitutionary Atoning Death, Bodily Resurrection, Triumphant Ascension and Abiding Intercession and in His return for His Church which is referred to as the Rapture. This is the blessed hope of all believers. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22;  Acts 2:22, 10:38;  2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 9:12; Luke 24:39;
1 Corinthians 15:4; Acts 1:9; Ephesians 4:8-10; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Corinthians 15:22-24,51-57;  1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:1-6)

We believe that God created man in His image, pure and upright, but fell by willful disobedience to God. (Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21)

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ, according to the Scriptures, died for our sins, was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day, and that through the shedding of His blood on the cross, we have forgiveness of sin; peace with God and eternal life. This experience is also known as the new birth and is an instantaneous and complete operation of the Holy Spirit upon initial faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Titus 2:11, 3:5-7; Romans 10:8- 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; John 3:5-6; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:23; 1 John 5:1

We believe that all who have truly placed their faith in the Christ as Savior and Lord are commanded to be baptized by immersion in water. Through water baptism a believer identifies with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection and affirms that he is a new creation in Christ Jesus. (Matt. 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Acts 2:38-39; Colossians 2:12)

We believe that all who have confessed Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and has been baptized in water should regularly participate in breaking of bread (i.e. Communion or the Lord's Supper). (Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians

We believe that when a person places his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit of God takes up residence in his life. And that it is the will of God for every believer to live a Spirit-filled (Spirit-controlled) life. The Spirit-filled life is one of power for service and is evidenced by the operation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and by the Fruit of the Spirit. (Acts 1:4-5, 8, 2:4, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 19:6; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11,28; Ephesians 4:7-16; Galatians 5:22)

We believe that a follower of Jesus Christ is to live a life of holiness (separation from the world) in the power of the Holy Spirit. (1 Peter 1:14-16; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 1 John 2:6)
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ has all power to heal and that the Church should pray in faith for healing. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:13-16)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the everlasting conscious punishment of all whose names are not written in the Book of Life. (Daniel 12:2-3; John 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:22-24; Matthew 25:46; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15

We believe that marriage is to be heterosexual. The institution of marriage firmly is set within the creation of humans as male and female. God’s imperative is, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24). There is no biblical precedent for any homosexual relationship that may be termed “marriage.” (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26,27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Timothy 1:911).

We Believe in the nobility of human beings

We believe in that nobility of human beings is seen in the divine mandate:  “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground” (Genesis 1:28). Superior to all other life forms, humans are to assume the role of responsible custodians of the earth. Every human life, from conception through death, is therefore to be valued, respected, nurtured, and protected.
