Our Story

Pastor Wade&Amy
Pastor Wade & Amy DeForest

Amy & I have been married for 30 years and have had the blessing of raising four children. Two have completed college and two are in college. We served as associate pastors at Shreveport Community Church in Shreveport, LA., from August of 1984 until May of 1998. Sensing God’s direction to establish a church in Fort Worth, Texas, we received the blessing of our pastor, Rodney Duron, and relocated to Fort Worth in May of 1998.

Living Water Church began in May 1998, in our home, with 14 in attendance.  For one year we held a Wednesday evening service in our home. In May of 1999, Living Water Church purchased its current facility and the first official service took place on Sunday, May 2nd; exactly one year to the date of our arriving in Fort Worth.

As pastors, it is the desire of our hearts to love people, see them establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and help them grow in their walk with Him. We work to help others understand the Bible and apply it in their daily lives.

As a church body, we seek to minister to those in our surrounding communities and people around the world. This is done through community ministries such as The Light Food Pantry and Friendship Ministry for those with intellectual disabilities.

Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Living Water Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer in any of the following areas, please contact the church office at 817-738-9917

The Light Food Pantry

The Light Food Pantry impacts our community by providing food to those in need on an emergency basis and through a weekly distribution.

Friendship Ministry

Friendship Ministries is a not-for-profit organization that exists to help churches and organizations around the world share God’s love with people who have intellectual disabilities. Our Mission is to share God’s love with people who have intellectual disability and to enable them to become an active part of God’s family.

Music

Christ-centered worship through music is a priority to us. Members of Living Water use their talents in singing and playing instruments to glorify Christ, helping with music presentations and other opportunities throughout the year.

Ushers & Greeters

The usher & greeter team at Living Water Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher & greeter team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

In an age of widespread technology, we drive to be good stewards and to use these tools in the best possible way for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook account for additional church communication.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer cannot be over-estimated. Living Water Church is a body of believers who believe that God works when we pray. Prayer is a part of the corporate worship service, morning Bible classes, and our small groups. Prayer is offered on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in our worship center. Also, by way of email and texting, the church is notified of urgent prayer requests.

LWC Kids

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, in addition to the morning Bible classes, Living Water Church holds a service for children ages 6-11 in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives your kids the opportunity for worship, interaction, and learning in a context and manner that is best suited to their age and learning styles.*

LWC Students

LWC Students provides a safe, and energetic atmosphere for students in grades 6-12. Your student will be brought into a family environment with a wonderful group of leaders, whose goal is to make your students feel heard and loved.* If God’s ministry is the ship, then we want to be the sail that gets the ministry to it’s destination.

God’s Growing Garden – Little Sprouts

Living Water provides ministry to young children, ages newborn – 5 years old during the main service. The children are loved and taught the Word of God in a fun environment through object lessons, hands on activities, and singing. Volunteers are needed to teach the children, serve snacks and serve in other ways.*

*All volunteers working with minors are screened with a background investigation
